initrd.gzの日本語化 ー 協力お願いします

新規に個人ファイルを作って再起動すると。
roxが起動しない。
jwmからアプリが起動できない。
とか発生。

rc.d以下をオリジナルにすると 「switch_root」以降の起動メッセージは英語です。
(saveファイルの選択後の3発目?のメッセージまでは日本語です。)

ハードディスクのパーティションを再度フォーマットしてパピー4.00の日本語版をもう一
度質素なインストールをしました。そして、上記の方法で４つのファイルをダウンロード
/インストールしてから、システムをリブートしました。「root_switch」後でもフレー
ムバッファのコンソールでは日本語が表示されてます。スピーカもネットワークも正常に
動いてます。ROXからアプリの起動も正常です。＃ps auxの出力が下記の様です。

それから、「Xを終了するとbtermになってるようには出来ませんか？」に関してはちょっと考えてみます。

パピー現存の「/usr/bin/dialog」はシングルバイト用で日本語表示は出来ません。
上記の４つのファイルの内、「dialog-deb」が有りますが、これはダブルバイト用で
日本語表示が出来ます。パピーの始動/終了時のスクリプト中の「dialog」コマンド
を「dialog-deb」に置き換える必要が有ります。これはあくまでもテスト用で、最終的
には現存の「/usr/bin/dialog」を削除して、「dialog-deb」を「/usr/bin/dialog」に
置き換えればよろしいと思います。

できるだけ時間を作りたいと思いますが。

ファイルはダウンロードしました。

もうすでにご存じとは思いますが、今までの自分のメモを書いておきます。的外れかも知れません。

1：puppy-4.00.3-JP.iso をマウント
2：その中の initrd.gz を作業ディレクトリにコピー
3：initrd.gzを展開
# gunzip initrd.gz (これで initrd というファイルができる)
# cat initrd | cpio -id (これで initrd の内容が見えるようになる)
4：initrd 内の init ファイルを編集すればできそうな気がする。
5：展開した initrd.gz(initrd)の中の README.txt には以下のように書かれている。

The key to understanding how Puppy2 works is the initial boot script,

In a nutshell, everything you see in /initrd is the initial ramdisk,
which is actually /dev/ram0.

With Puppy, the initial ramdisk is not discarded after bootup.

The directories pup_rw, pup_ro1, etc are mounted on "/" when Puppy is running.
The number of them mounted is variable, at least pup_rw will be.
The usual situation is pup_rw, pup_ro1 and pup_ro2 are mounted on "/".

/initrd/pup_rw
This is the writable folder. Usually it is tmpfs (temporary filesystem) in ram.
However, a personal storage file (pup_save.3fs) or partition could be mounted
directly on here (in which case it won't be on /initrd/pup_ro1).

/initrd/pup_ro1
This is usually your saved files, and the contents of pup_rw get saved to here,
periodically or at end of session.
Note that this is mounted rw, although unionfs makes it behave as ro on "/".

/initrd/pup_ro2
These are all the Puppy files. Normally we don't write to this, we keep it pristine.

unionfs
Mounts the directories in this order:
pup_rw
pup_ro1
pup_ro2
pup_ro3
pup_ro4
pup_ro5

Where the higher directory has precedence. For example if files of the same name
exist in pup_rw and pup_ro1, the file in pup_rw is the one that is "seen".

Puppy doesn't use runlevels.

Note, the only script listed above that is not user-editable is init,
as this is pristine out of initrd.gz.

An exception to the above description is a full hard drive installation.
In that case, initrd.gz is not used, and there is no pivot_root and no
/initrd folder. This mode has PUPMODE=2.
The above sequence is still correct, except that the Busybox /sbin/init
is the first thing that executes, then rc.sysinit, etc.

フィードバックありがとうございます。日本語用のrc.dの中身を変えたら、ネットワークとalsaの認識が出来なくなったと言うことですね。initrd.gzとは無関係なわけですね。これは明らかに「swich_root」後の問題のようです。「switch_root」後で一番最初に実行されるプログラムは「rc.sysinit」と理解してます。わたしは日本語が表示出来るようにするために元々の「rc.sysinit」を「rc.sysinit」と「rc.sysinit0」に分けました。そのあたりで問題があるかも分かりません。２台のパソコンに試しましたが、問題有りませんでした。残念ながら暇人さんがおっしゃる状況を再現出来ません。そのためにももっと多くの方々にテストして頂ければ幸いです。

すでにご存知かも知れませんが、古い2004年のデビアンのスレッドです。

現在はどうなっているか知りません。
理解できない部分もありますが、個人的にはてもわかりやすく参考になると思います。

デビアン版jfbterm_0.4.4-7-debでは、コンパイルエラー。
Free-BSD版jfbterm-FreeBSD-0.5.1では何とか成功。

しかしjfbtermをコンソールで起動すると

exec : /bin/bash open /dev/fb-1: No such file or directory

で起動せず。

コード: 全て選択

ln -s /dev/fb0 /dev/fb-1

で起動するとコンソールが真っ黒け。

コード: 全て選択

ln -s /dev/console /dev/fb-1

で起動すると
「/dev/consoleはフレームバッファではない」と言われます(当り前)。

その他「DirecrFB」なるものもインストールしましたが、使いかたが良くわからず。

なお、どこかのサイトに、
「vga=normal ではフレームバッファは使えない」とありました。
そこで「vga=791」などとして見ましたが、うまく行きません。

やはり素直にbtermにした方がいいかも知れません。
しかしコードが書けない私は
「日本語化しないでそのままにしておくのも、一つの勇気？かも知れない」などとも思います。
フォントを入れたりするとパピーのサイズもどんどん大きくなってしまうし。

vga=0x317で使えてます。

fbconだけを有効にしたinitrdだとどのくらいのサイズアップになりますか？
boot後にfbconsoleが使えるだけでも結構便利なんです。
